Official Contest Rules

Beginning Sunday, December 4, 2016 and continuing through the contest period, the rules and regulations for the Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation Deck The Halls Photo Contest will be available on mtemc.com.
The contest period is from Sunday, December 4, 2016 through Wednesday, December 21, 2016, with entries being accepted from Sunday, December 4, 2016 through 11:59pm CDT on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. The Second Runner-Up, First Runner-Up and Grand Prizes will be awarded on Thursday, December 22, 2016.
How To Enter
Beginning Sunday, December 4, 2016 and continuing through Wednesday, December 21, 2016, you can go to Middle Tennessee Electric’s facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MiddleTennesseeElectric) and click on the Deck The Halls Photo Contest link where people may enter the contest. You can also post on twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #MTEMCDeckTheHalls to enter the contest.
Eligible participants must submit an original photograph of a holiday scene or activity, and upload the photograph to the Contest Application Site or to twitter or Instagram with the proper hashtag. Eligible participants will also be required to provide their first and last name, email address and ZIP on the Contest Application Site. In the event of a dispute as to any entry, the authorized account holder, defined below, of the email address used to register will be deemed to be the entrant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. Each winner may be required to show proof of being an authorized account holder and member of Middle Tennessee Electric. By entering, you agree to these Official Rules, which are final and binding in all aspects.
Sponsor and Contest Parties are not responsible for incomplete, lost, late, damaged, illegible or misdirected entries or for any technical problems, malfunctions of any telephone lines, computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission or any combination thereof. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS PROMOTION IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW. ANYONE INTENTIONALLY OR ATTEMPTING TO UNLAWFULLY MANIPULATE, CAUSE ANY INTERFERENCE WITH OR INTERRUPTION TO THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS PROMOTION WILL FORFEIT ANY PRIZE WINNINGS FROM THE CONTEST.
No entries will be accepted by mail or by delivery to the offices of Middle Tennessee Electric. Only entries posted on the app through Middle Tennessee Electric’s facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MiddleTennesseeElectric) will be eligible. All entries must be posted by 11:59 p.m. (CDT) on the final date of the contest – Wednesday, December 21, 2016. All entries must be completed in their entirety to be eligible to win.
An entrant may submit as many entries as they like during the course of the contest.
The Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation Deck The Halls Photo Contest” (“Contest”) is open only to individuals who are at least 18 years old at time of entry and are a Middle Tennessee Electric member or a resident of Cannon, Rutherford, Williamson or Wilson County in the state of Tennessee. Employees of Middle Tennessee Electric and each of their immediate family members (parents, siblings, children and spouse, wherever they reside) or household members (whether or not related) are not eligible. Groups, clubs, organizations, commercial entities and businesses are not eligible to participate.
How to Win
Based on the number of votes received at the Contest Application Site for the photos entered and uploaded or posted by Entrants, there will be three winners for the contest period. When the Contest Period is closed, the Second Runner-Up, First Runner-Up and Grand Prize winner will be selected based on number of votes received. The Second Runner-Up will have the third highest number of votes, the First Runner-Up will have the second highest number of votes and the Grand Prize Winner will have the highest number of votes. In the event of a tie, a random drawing among those in the tie will determine the winner.
Voters may vote once per day over the contest period.
The selection of the winners is final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. The winners will be notified by electronic mail by a member of the Middle Tennessee Electric staff using the email address provided at the time of registration. Winners will be contacted on the following date:
- Thursday, December 22, 2016 before 2:00p.m.
- Winners must notify Contest Administrator of their intention to redeem the Contest prizes by the following times and dates:
- Thursday, December 29, 2016 before 5:00p.m.
- If a Contest winner does not reply by the designated time, that Contest winner’s prize will be forfeited. In the event that a winner forfeits his/her prize or is disqualified for any reason, Administrator will award the applicable prize to another eligible entrant based on the number of votes received for the alternate entrant’s Contest Entry. However, no more than one (1) winner per household may be selected. The receipt of a prize(s) is contingent upon compliance with these Official Rules.
Contest Winners will be required, within 48 hours of the date notice is sent, to sign and return to Contest Administrator an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release in order to claim their prize. If the winners fail to sign and return the Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release within the required time period (if applicable), the selected winners shall forfeit the prize. Middle Tennessee Electric and Contest Administrator are not responsible for late, lost or misdirected prize claim documents.
The winners are subject to verification by Contest Administrator. THE CONTEST ADMINISTRATOR’S DECISIONS ARE FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THE CONTEST. Entrants are not winners of any prize unless and until entrants’ eligibility has been verified and entrants have been notified that verification is complete. The possibility of system failure, any entry that occurs after the system has failed for any reason is deemed a defective entry and is void and will not be honored.
- The following prizes will be awarded for the Contest Period:
- The Second Runner-Up will receive a $20 Amazon gift card. TOTAL VALUE: $20. The First Runner-Up will receive a $30 Amazon gift card. TOTAL VALUE: $30. The Grand Prize Winner will receive a $50 Amazon gift card. TOTAL VALUE: $50. All prizes awarded in United States Dollars (USD). Prize winners are solely responsible for all costs, expenses and taxes not specified in these Official Rules related to the prize. Prizes may not be transferred, assigned, redeemed for cash or substituted, except that Middle Tennessee Electric or Contest Administrator may substitute any prize component with a prize component of equal or greater value should stated prize become unavailable for any reason. Only the prizes listed above will be awarded.
By receipt of prize, winner agrees to release, indemnify, defend and hold harmless Middle Tennessee Electric and Contest Administrator and their respective advertising and promotion agencies and each such company’s officers, directors, members, managers, employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any risk, loss, injury, damage, harm, claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, illness, personal injury, death or damage to or loss of property arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. Winners will be required to execute an Affidavit and Release document to this effect at the time of receipt of prize.
Except where prohibited, acceptance of any prize constitutes winner’s consent to allow Middle Tennessee Electric, Contest Administrator and their agents to have unlimited use of and right to use winner’s name, likeness, photograph, recipe, voice, statements or testimonials and/or city and state of origin for promotional purposes in any media, without further payment or consideration. Contest winner will execute an Affidavit and Release to this effect prior to receiving any prize.
Any use of robotic, automatic, macro, programmed or like methods (including such methods provided or enabled by third parties) to participate in the Contest will void any attempted participation effected by such methods and result in disqualification of participant utilizing same. If, for any reason in the sole opinion of Contest Administrator, the Contest (in whole or in part) is not capable of running as planned by reason of, but not limited to, infection by computer virus, worms, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which Sponsor in its sole opinion deems could corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and/or proceed with the Contest (including the awarding of prizes) in a manner deemed by Sponsor in its sole discretion to be fair, appropriate and consistent with the spirit of these Official Rules. Notice of such action by Sponsor will be posted on the Contest site. Sponsor and Contest Administrator are not responsible for any typographical or other errors in the printing of the offer, administration of the Contest or announcement of the prizes. Taxes on any prize are the responsibility of the winner.
Contest Entrants will submit only originally created photographs, or photographs in which they have full intellectual property rights for publication, as Contest entries.
Contest Entrants may submit one (1) entry during each Contest Period; only one (1) winner per household FOR THE CONTEST, INCLUDING ALL THREE PRIZES, may be selected.
Release of Liability; Indemnification
Each winner must sign a liability release form relieving Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation of any liability for damage or harm winner(s) might incur in claiming or using the prize. Failure to sign the release form will result in forfeiture of the prize.
Valid identification (driver’s license, birth certificate, or valid state or Federal ID) must be presented to Middle Tennessee Electric in order to claim the prize. Middle Tennessee Electric is not required to honor other forms of identification or any identification that has been tampered with or altered.
Winners are responsible for all other expenses except as listed under PRIZE in the contest rules. Middle Tennessee Electric will not provide any money for any expenses incurred as a result of claiming or using the prize, including but not limited to transportation, parking and other incidental expenses incurred while claiming or using the prize.
Winners may be asked to participate in video and still photography publicizing the contest. Failure to participate in video and still photography publicizing the contest may result in forfeiture of the prize. Entry in the contest will serve as agreement and consent from the participant for the participant’s name and likeness to be posted on Middle Tennessee Electric’s Facebook page, on MTEMC.com, or in other public forums in order to publicize and promote this contest.
Middle Tennessee Electric is not responsible if any potential winner notification is not received by email or for any reason due to inaccurate contact information provided at the time of entry or if the e-mail it sends to a potential winner is misdirected or bounces back or is intercepted by SPAM or other e-mail filters. Middle Tennessee Electric is a safe sender of email.
Middle Tennessee Electric is not responsible for any failure to access MTEMC.com, Middle Tennessee Electric’s Facebook page or the Deck The Halls Photo Contest section due to technical difficulties with MTEMC.com’s host provider, Facebook, an electrical failure, acts of God outside of company control, or any other Internet-related malfunction.
Middle Tennessee Electric reserves the right to cancel the Deck The Halls Photo Contest at any time if there is any technical corruption. In the event the contest is cancelled, Middle Tennessee Electric reserves the right to conduct an alternate selection based on prize criteria to award the prizes from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the time of the action or event warranting such cancellation.
Middle Tennessee Electric is not responsible for late, illegible, incomplete, altered, lost or misdirected entries, for any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest, or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in the contest, or for failure to receive entries due to transmission failure or technical failures of any kind and such entries will be void.
All entries become the property of Middle Tennessee Electric and will not be acknowledged or returned. Entries may be used for marketing purposes by Middle Tennessee Electric.
Due to unforeseen circumstances that can arise from time to time, the Middle Tennessee Electric Deck The Halls Photo Contest can be discontinued at any time during the promotional period.
Any person violating any of the above rules may be required to forfeit the prize.
Rules may be modified at any time during the contest period with such changes announced and available on MTEMC.com.
The Contest Administrator is responsible for the administration and execution of the Middle Tennessee Electric Deck The Halls Photo Contest. Entrants should contact the Contest Administrator, firstname.lastname@example.org, with any questions, comments or problems related to the Contest.
